Lullaby tisane to help you relax, unwind and sleep easy. It has been designed to help calm the nervous system, to quiet an overactive mind, reduce anxiety, encouraging relaxation and improving overall sleep quality.

Ingredients: Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla), Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), Passion Flower (Passiflora incarnata) and Valerian Root (Valeriana officinalis).

How to use:
Place 1 to 2gr (about one teaspoon) of tea in a cup, or 4 to 5gr (two teaspoons) in a teapot, fill with boiled water and cover the top of the cup with a saucer (or place the lid on the teapot) to capture all of the volatile oils. Steep for 15 to 30 minutes then enjoy. Alternatively you may steep overnight and enjoy cold (or reheated) the following day, this will ensure you not only consume all of the beneficial volatile oils, but also a raft of wonderful vitamins and minerals.

Note: It is more about the importance of steeping the plants effectively, than how much of them you use.

Flavour profile:

Well balanced with the Chamomile and Lavender bringing a soft floral sweetness, while Passion Flower and Valerian add earthy depth and grounding:

  • Soft, apple-like sweetness – Chamomile
  • Floral, aromatic lift – Lavender

  • Deep, earthy bitterness – Valerian Root

A bit about each of the healing herbs used in this tisane blend:

Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla)

Chamomile flowers have been used for centuries as a gentle medicinal herb, particularly for digestive discomfort, nervous tension, and relaxation. It calms the nervous system, encourages restful sleep, and soothes feelings of stress or irritability. Its anti-inflammatory properties also contribute to its traditional use for soothing irritated tissues/muscles.

Energetically: Chamomile is cooling, calming, and gently relaxing. It helps soften tension, settle restlessness, and bring a sense of ease to both the digestive system and the emotions. Chamomile brings a nurturing, comforting quality to a blend, making it especially suited to preparations intended to soothe, restore, and encourage calm.

Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)

Lavender flowers are traditionally used to support relaxation, ease nervous tension, and promote relaxation, restful sleep and emotional balance. Prepared as a tisane, lavender may help settle feelings of anxiety and restlessness while offering gentle digestive support, particularly when stress contributes to digestive discomfort. It is also valued for its distinctive fragrance, which brings a floral dimension to both medicinal and culinary preparations.

Energetically: Lavender is cooling, aromatic, and gently uplifting. It helps disperse nervous tension, quiet an overactive mind, and soften feelings of agitation. Its floral fragrance brings lightness and clarity to a blend, while its calming character encourages a sense of peace and balance. Lavender can complement warmer, heavier herbs by adding a fresh, soothing quality, helping a blend feel more open, settled, and harmonious.

Passion Flower (Passiflora incarnata)

Passion flower is a traditional nervine herb used to support relaxation, ease nervous tension and stress, settle an overactive mind, and encourage restful sleep. The aerial parts of the plant, including the leaves, stems, and flowers, are commonly used in herbal preparations. Traditional use and some preliminary research suggest potential benefits for anxiety and sleep, although further evidence is needed to confirm its effects.

Energetically: Passion flower is cooling, calming, and gently grounding. It helps soften mental restlessness and encourages a shift from overthinking towards stillness and quiet. Its subtle, earthy-green flavour brings a mild, balancing quality to a blend, complementing more aromatic herbs such as lavender and chamomile. Passion flower contributes a peaceful, settling character, making it particularly suited to blends designed to soothe the nervous system and prepare the mind for rest.

Valerian Root (Valeriana officinalis)

Valerian root has a long history of traditional use as a relaxing herb, particularly with supporting the nervous system, helping to release tension and restlessness, supporting relaxation and preparing the body for sleep. Its earthy, distinctive aroma reflects its strong character, and it is frequently combined with gentler herbs such as chamomile, lavender, and passion flower to create a more balanced blend.

Energetically: Valerian is warming, grounding, and deeply relaxing. It brings a heavier, more rooted quality to a blend, helping to settle restlessness and encourage a sense of physical and mental stillness. Its strong, earthy aroma and slightly bitter flavour give it a more robust character than the softer floral herbs. Valerian provides depth and substance to this calming blend, complementing the gentle sweetness of the chamomile and the aromatic lightness of the lavender, encouraging deep relaxation and nighttime rest.
